EAB Found in Oklahoma.

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), is a green beetle native to eastern Asia that feeds on ash trees across the United States.

Northern ash trees do not have a natural resistance to sustain the damage created by EAB, and as a result, all northern ash trees are expected to die from this infestation.

EAB was discovered in Northeast Oklahoma in 2016, and in abutting states. In Tulsa, there are 300,000 northern ash trees that will have to be treated, or removed and replaced with new trees. Up With Trees is partnering with the City of Tulsa to proactively remove and replace ash trees in public spaces in an effort to prepare for EAB’s arrival in our community.

Additional information on national and individual state preparation and response can be found on the Emerald Ash Borer Information Network website.
