Our roots run deep.

For over 50 years, we have been the passionate caretakers of Tulsa’s canopy.

Since 1976 we have planted over0trees in the Tulsa metro.

We're just getting started.

The year was 1975. The City of Tulsa was widening 51st Street and needed to remove trees. A concerned Thomas Edison high school student named Elliott Howe Jr. wanted to know what the city would do to replace the trees and called Tulsa Street Commissioner Sid Patterson. Sadly, there weren’t enough funds for the cash-strapped city to replace them. Together, they planted the seed of an idea that would grow to become Up With Trees. Patterson enlisted the help of Tulsa Garden Club members, landscape architects and civic groups with an idea to found a private, non-profit group to raise funds and plant trees. One year later, we planted our first tree at the 31st & Yale exit on the Broken Arrow Expressway. More than five decades and 40,000 trees later, Up With Trees continues to cultivate Tulsa’s canopy, one tree at a time.

Trees hold stories.

1976

Trees funded by C. E. Natco to celebrate their 50th Anniversary - planted in the triangle between the Broken Arrow Expressway and 31st St exit ramp.
