Chinese Flame Tree

Chinese Flame Tree is a stylish small deciduous tree with gleaming, vivid green leaves. However, this tree stands out for its unique floral display in summer, with its abundance of warm yellow flowers that appear in large clusters, 12-24 inches long at the tips of the branches. The flowers are then followed by dangling clusters of papery, lantern-like seed capsules that turn pink to rose and last for 3-5 weeks. With its substantial crop of captivating flowers, magnificent foliage, vibrant fall colors, ornamental fruit and drought tolerance, makes the Chinese Flame Tree a favorite as a landscape or shade tree. It is also low maintenance, with no serious insect or disease issues, but keep an eye out for root rot, leaf spot and canker.
