Chinquapin Oak

Perfect for larger lawns, estates or parks, this medium to large size oak has shiny dark green leaves in summer that turn a yellow-orange to orangish brown come fall. The Chinquapin Oak produces 1” sweet acorns that mature in a single season and are a food favorite for many wildlife species like wild turkeys, grouse, white-tailed deer, black bears, chipmunks, squirrels and hogs with cattle enjoying its leaves. The bark is an ashy, light gray that breaks into small, thin flakes and is a conversation piece as it matures in its environment.
