If you're looking for a large shade tree that grows quickly, Cottonwood are great options. These trees are often used in flood zones and stabilize stream banks as they are so fast growing, create natural wind breaks, and do well in wet soil. If you want to avoid the cotton seeds building up in your yard, we recommend going with the male variety of the tree.
