Deodar Cedar

Described as “the most graceful cedar,” the Deodar Cedar makes a great first impression. With its sophisticated branches, exquisite coloring, delightful shape, and dynamic branch pattern, the Deodar Cedar standouts in a landscape setting. Not only does this tree make a soft windscreen, it has also been successfully used as a street tree with the lower branches pruned for pedestrian traffic as well. Featuring bluish-green or silvery needles, it also has reddish-brown cones that are 3-6” long. Like many other cedars, Deodar Cedars also produce an aromatic oil that naturally discourages pesky insects. Deodar Cedars provide excellent nesting sites, cover and food for mammals and birds such as the woodpecker.
