Desert Willow
Named for its resemblance to willows, this popular ornamental tree is known for its exotic-looking violet-scented blooms. The flower is dark pink or purple, often with white or yellow and purple streaks within the throat. By early autumn, the flowers are replaced by slim seedpods, which remain flowing from the branches and help identify the tree after the flowers are gone. This sought-after tree grows quickly, is drought tolerant and can be maintained easily. Desert Willows attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
