Pink Velour Crape Myrtle
The adaptable, Pink Velour Crape Myrtle, is a large flowering shrub. They provide beautiful screening with their dramatic color, and can grow quickly. They are resistant to drought and high mildew, and do best in moist, well-drained, loamy soil but can tolerate a variety of conditions. It starts to bloom in July, and continues to be covered in these pink flowers through September. The leathery leaves emerge wine-colored, turning purple-green in the summer and orange-brown in the fall. Once mature, the bark exfoliates on the branches.
