Red Maple
The Red Maple provides lovely fall colors from yellow to red, and produces small clusters of red flowers in the transition from winter to spring. The state tree of Rhode Island, the Red Maple is also a food source to surrounding wildlife, including squirrels, rabbits, and deer. It is a common deciduous tree in North America, and is recognized as the most abundant native tree specifically in eastern North America.
