Rocky Mountain Juniper

Known for its impressively long life, the Rocky Mountain Juniper is typically found in dry, rocky, foothills above 5000 ft. in elevation. It grows in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Although it is generally intolerant of hot and humid growing conditions as well as wet soils, it thrives in cold, hardy temperatures. There are no serious insect or disease problems, but Rocky Mountain Junipers are generally susceptible to blights, especially phomopsis twig blight is of particular concern and watch be sure to watch for spider mites.
