Tuliptree/Yellow Poplar
Tuliptrees are named as a reference to the shape of their flowers, which have beautiful marks of green, yellow, and orange. Their leaves are a bright green and turn a vibrant yellow in the fall. Tuliptree stems have a pleasant fragrance and their seeds attract birds, squirrels, rabbits, and other small animals. They tolerate different soil compositions, however, are susceptible to ice damage due to a weaker branch structure from it’s fast growth.
