White Oak
Not only can White Oak trees reach impressive heights around 80 feet tall, but their branches are wide spreading and have the potential to match their height. Often characterized as ‘gentle giants’, wildlife love the acorns they produce while people are inspired as they change colors in the fall. Their deep root systems help them in areas where drought is common, but they don’t do well in poor compacted soil. They have a smoother bark and they gained their name from the whitened underside of their leaves.
